China Tea Expo (CTE) launched the first ever trade show to the tea industry in 2004, Beijing. It is authorized by the Ministry of Commerce, P.R. China. The Trade Development Bureau of Ministry of Commerce, China Native Produce and Animal By-Products Imp. & Exp. Corp., and Sunry Advertising and Exhibition Co., Ltd. are the sponsors. The Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) takes pride in being the local connection to coordinate this global event.

China Tea Expo is the annual trade event for the tea industry. Last year, the 7th CTE was successfully held at the World Trade Center, which had 11000 square meters of space, thousands of tea lovers, mass merchants, experts and business professionals who visited CTE, in additional has impressive tea ceremonies, visitors did get to taste a good few varieties, attended seminars and visited specialty tea wholesale suppliers. CTE approximately hosted 410 companies and over 37,000 attendees. The 2011 China Tea Expo, the largest, and the most important tea event in Beijing China which will host World Tea Forum, High Quality Tea Rating and International Tea Ceremony Competition, is set to become a multi-themed Expo, and it is an exclusive opportunity for imminent buyers, helping grow sales and expanding market shares.
