FCCISL coordinates participation to Kunming, China Trade Fair 2009

The Kunming Import and Export International Trade Fair, one of the largest trade fairs in the world would be held inKunming Province, China from 5th to 10th June 2009. The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2006 with the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the organisers of the Trade Fair, bringing inestimable opportunity to the Sri Lankan business community by way of free stalls for selected Small & Medium Enterprises and concessionary terms for others. FCCISL which won first prize for ‘Organisation’ at the Kunming Trade Fair in 2007 is coordinating the Sri Lankan trade participation for this important Chinese Trade Fair.

More than 48 countries including, Australia, New Zealand , Papua Newginia, Russia, South Asian countries and some European countries are expected to take part and would exhibit and sell their products at this Fair. Large participation all round the world are expected.

Te exhibitors of products and services at the Kunming Fair have the advantage of entering the massive Chinese market and to markets of 48 other countries. These participants would have the opportunity to select products of other countries to import to Sri Lanka. They are also permitted to sell on the spot, while there is no product limitation.

The product range for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs participating the Kunming Fair would be Tea, Gem & Jewellary, Spice, Handlooms, Furniture, Porcelain, Coco Peat, Coir based products, Coconut based products, Arrack, Coconut oil, Garments, Ayurvedic & Herbal products, cosmetics, Art & Craft, Gift items, Jams & Cordials, Paints, Motor spare parts, Services such as Tourism, Investments, Insurance, Financial etc.
