FCCISL Creates public – private dialogue at national level

Strengthen public sector while waging a war – Said President

His Excellency President Mihinda Rajapakshe, at a special meeting held at temple Tree on 10 July, 2008 with four chambers in North Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces organized by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Sri Lanka symbolizing its efforts in creating public- private dialogue at national level, said that it is government responsibility to strengthen public sector which consist of nearly 1.1 million government servants while waging a war.

G.L. Peiris Minister of Export Development & International Trade, Rajitha Senaratne Minister of Construction & Engineering Services, Milinda Moragoda Minister of Tourism, John Seneviratne Minister of Power & Energy, Milroy Fernando Minister of Public Estate management & Development and Karunaratne Divulgane Governor North Central Province were also attended the meeting.

The objective of this meeting is to give opportunity for business community to raise policy and regulatory issues which impede Small and Medium Enterprise development in the region. Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa Kagall & Sabaragamu Chambers presented their issues.
