Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka successfully hosted the 3rd Indo Ceylon Economic Dialogue (ICE 3 ) simultaneously at the 9th Indian Trade Fair at SLECC
Today 8th May 2015 FCCISL in collaboration with Mp events Lanka PVT Ltd successfully hosted the 3rd Indo Ceylon Economic Dialogue (ICE 3) at SLECC. Deputy Minister Honorable Eran Wicramaratne Ministry of Highways and Investment Promotion, HE Mr. Arindam Bagchi the Acting High Commissioner Indian High Commission to Sri Lanka graced the event.
Mr.Ajith Wattuhewa President FCCISL in his address mentioned that “We all know that governments to governments are connected, Institutions to institutions are connected, but chamber to chamber links are to be established. The objective of conducting successive series of Indo Ceylon Economic Dialogues is to create a closely knit private sector between India and Sri Lanka. The ICE dialogues conducted by FCCISL will be our brand for the Indian Community and Sri Lankan Community to liaise on trade, investment and services”.
Mr. Alok B. Shriram President PHD Chamber of Commerce conveyed to the gathering “ The vision of an ideal bilateral cooperation is where trade, investments, technology , and ideas flow easily “
Mr. R.D.S Kumarartne Director General Department of Commerce elaborated on many issues in relation to the FTA and said that it could be addressed by dialogue forums. Mr. Upul Jayasooriya Chairman Board of Investment spoke on how Sri Lanka is supportive of Indian Investments and how it should also be the other way round .Mr. Mallikarjuna, Country Head of Shapoorji Pallonji (Pvt) Ltd conveyed that in Indian companies operating in Sri Lanka 90% of employers are Sri Lankan and Mr. S.Sivaraja Managing Director REEBON Manufacturing Pvt Ltd shared his success story on doing business in India. The Chairmen of Indian CEO Forum and Managing Director Piramal Glass Ceylon PLC Mr. Sanjay Kumar Tiwari shared vital knowledge on Sri Lanka being the destination full of potential for Indian traders and investors.
